Welcome!

I am glad you chose to visit! My blog is a compilation of the many hats I find myself wearing. On any given day I may be an encourager, an instructor, or just a lady who is venting. You, dear reader, will probably identify with my triumphs and my tribulations! These snapshots fit into my Life Scrapbook I have named A. McInnis Artworks. I hope you will find something worth your while.

Wiley Elves & Vintage Look Wreath

My niece Whitney made this great looking wreath using her unused ornaments. I love the bright colors and vintage look! BTW: She is not only artsy...she also (along with her husband) just completed the New York City Marathon! We DO have an athlete in the family!!
I know about the "Elf on the Shelf" phenom that has hit the US the past few years, but that little creature has absolutely NOTHING on these little guys! Stamped on the bottom of their stands is JAPAN in blue and they are at least 5o years old. (We had this set when I was a tiny child.)

Some have pine cone bodies and some do not...all have a mischievous tilt to their head and a unsettling gleam in their eyes. I have at least 5 of the tiny men in fairly good condition.

My granddaughter used to be afraid of these little men. During the holidays if she spotted them when we were eating, she would immediately turn their heads away from looking at her. They do have sort of a maniacal look about them. Looks like they know things they shouldn't.... :P
Can't help but love them though.
