I immediately got control of the walker, went to my bathroom, took a bird bath and washed my hair. After a little make up and combing my wild mane, I felt like a new person. I apologized to my husband who has dutifully taken care of me while I was whining and carrying on like a blubbering baby.
For the first time in my life, I have real sympathy for people on a walker. I've tried not to take the sides off furniture and door facings, and I am working on a cute bag to button on the walker to transport stuff. I've also learned that 3 days without looking at yourself in the mirror can cause heart failure. I almost didn't recognize myself..how could my husband still love me...roughly, I looked like a potato sack that had fallen off a wagon and was run over by an 18 wheeler.
Today, is the first day I've sat at the computer (until now, I have whined by phone on Facebook.) So the first thing I typed is this blog entry. I have been reading this month's Southern Living magazine and a few quotes caught my eye. I will share a few and then end this post, because I have been warned to take it easy by the

I would like to thank everybody who has cheered me on through these last 6 months of pain....I'm not sure I am up to more surgery on the other knee just yet...it takes a while for a bad dream to fizzle in my mind. But, I am up and around (sort of)...I appreciate your thoughts and prayers!

My friends who have had knee surgery have told me it is truly grueling. Take it easy and let the drill sergeant pamper you.
My mother had total knee replacements probably 30 years ago. She said that was the most painful surgery right after the surgery she had ever had. But once you passed that point, she was so glad she had it. She had rheumatioid arthritis.
