I am the world's worst about not speaking. I used to be painfully shy, and I still find it difficult to speak to people at times. I have even gone as far as to actively avoid someone in WalMart, all because I didn't know what to say, or if they would even want to speak to me. Don't know why. Most times I'm very friendly, but sometimes I get very anxious, and would just rather avoid the situation altogether.
